POINT COUNTERPOINT

Counterpoint Concert closes its season with a performance in the vibrant and historic Dupont Underground, featuring acclaimed cellist, Gabriel Cabezas, and award-winning percussionist, Jeff Stern. Founder & pianist, Natalia Kazaryan, will be joining them in this diverse and exciting program, celebrating the history and communicative power of counterpoint from the Baroque period to the 21st century.

  • J.S. Bach –  Cello Suite No. 3 in C Major
    Andy Akiho – 21 for cello, marimba, and electronics 
    Caroline Shaw – Boris Kerner for cello and flower pots
    Arvo Pärt – Spiegel im Spiegel for cello and piano  
    Gabriella Smith – Imaginary Pancake for solo piano
    Michael Laurello  - I always visit the same imaginary city when I dream for solo percussion
